Two suits for the price of one is the practical case here. Alone it handles a tropical dive; pulled on under a 5 mm steamer it adds core warmth for a third or fourth dive without a thicker suit taking up space in the kit bag. Short legs also mean a diver can walk to a shore entry without cooking on the way down. The build is N2S neoprene, nylon laminated to both faces of the foam so no raw cell surface is left exposed to tear, over a 2.5 mm X-Foam core, on glued and blind-stitched seams. The interior carries a plush lining. Entry is a diagonal rear YKK zipper on a KZ brass slider, brass because a plated one seizes in salt. The cut opens up range of motion at the shoulder, which is where a shorty binds first. Seven sizes run XS through 3XL. Bare arms and lower legs leave stings and abrasion open, which a UPF 50 dive skin underneath closes. It suits a warm-water diver who also wants a layering piece.
