Apeks DIN Protector Cap

Description

A DIN thread is exposed brass on the most expensive part of a regulator, and a knock against a cylinder or a boat deck can leave it cross threading into every valve afterwards. The protector cap screws in and takes that damage instead. On a boat it keeps the thread clean while the regulator sits in a crate. On a rinse it stops tank water entering the inlet, which is how filters corrode. On a trip it protects the thread inside a packed bag, where a regulator is pressed against fins and cylinders for hours. A damaged DIN thread is not a field repair, so a cap that costs almost nothing is protecting the part with the worst failure consequence on the whole first stage. It replaces one lost or worn out. It suits any diver running DIN regulators.
