Description

A buddy 15 metres off in green water turns towards a sound without having to be looking the right way, and at the surface a horn reaches a skipper who has lost the group where a diver waving between crests does not. This is a pneumatic signalling horn fitted inline between the low pressure inflator hose and the BCD inflator, so it becomes part of the BCD rather than one more thing clipped on and remembered at the right moment. Nothing needs deploying. It draws a small amount of air from the cylinder and sounds both in air and underwater: a light squeeze gives the subsurface signal, a firm squeeze at the surface gives the loud one. The body is injection-moulded thermoplastic with chrome-plated brass couplings on a standard quick connect, so fitting needs no modification. Several connector versions exist, so check the hose fitting before a trip. It suits a diver wanting a surface and subsurface signal.
