Deluxe Webbed Harness + Alu Backplate

Description

An aluminium plate weighs around 780 grams against roughly 2.15 kilos for stainless, and on a flight that difference is worth more than the ballast would have been. This pairs the Deluxe one piece webbed harness with the aluminium backplate. On a travel trip it is the version that gets a backplate rig into a baggage allowance alongside regulators and a suit. On a warm water dive in a thin suit the lost ballast is not missed, because there is little to offset. On a technical build the harness is the same twelve feet of two inch webbing with six stainless D-rings and serrated retainers, with no buckle in the load path. Tank bands are bought separately. It suits a travelling or warm water diver building a backplate rig, and the stainless version adds ballast for cold water.
