Description

An EO connector left open on a canister is a hole in the pressure boundary. The contacts corrode in salt water, the socket fills with sand, and on the next dive the port that should have taken a light cable will not seat properly or will not seal at all. A blind plug closes the port when nothing is connected to it, which is the whole job and the reason the part exists. It matters most between dives and in transit, when a canister spends more time in a kit bag and a boat bilge than it does underwater, and it costs a fraction of the connector it protects. Big Blue supply it for their EO-fitted canister systems. That answers a canister carried with one port unused, storage between trips and a rig configured differently for a given dive. It suits any diver running an EO canister light.
