Description

Two millimetres added at the head and chest does more than the same two millimetres added to a suit, because those are the places heat leaves fastest. That is the argument for a hooded vest under a 5 mm suit in Cape water. This one is moulded from Yulex, a plant-based foam made from FSC-certified natural rubber instead of petroleum neoprene, in the Yulex Dive grade formulated to resist compression under pressure so the foam keeps its loft at depth. Hood and vest are both 2 mm and both lined inside and out with black stretch polyester spun from recycled plastic bottles. The hood carries a face seal to cut water intrusion and three vent holes, which release the trapped air that otherwise tips a hooded diver head down. Seams are flat-locked and assembly uses solvent-free glue. Unisex sizing runs XS to 2XL. It is sleeveless, so the arms take no benefit. It suits a diver adding warmth under a wetsuit.
