S-TEK Expedition Reel 660 Black

Description

Swapping to a second reel part-way down a line is where teams lose the thread; two hundred metres on one drum means most dives never reach that point. This is the longer of the two sizes, 660 ft of exploration and long penetration line rather than anything for SMB deployment. The frame is marine-grade anodised aluminium, the drum injection-moulded fibreglass-reinforced nylon on a stainless steel axle with stainless screws. Placing the stainless lock-down at the tail of the handle, well away from where line leaves the frame, gives better reach and takes a snag point out of the path. An anti-release eyelet keeps the bolt snap captive and an ergonomic anti-snag winder handles retrieval under tension, with an integrated stealth line cleat and a removable Torben-Loc anchor securing the end. A line capacity gauge shows what is still on the drum, so a team calls the turn on line remaining rather than by memory. It suits a technical diver on long penetration dives.
