Description

A zip pocket needs two hands and a stiff finger; this one takes a squeeze on the buckle, which is what lets a diver open it at depth with a torch in the other hand. It is a 1000D Cordura pocket for a technical rig, filling the gap left by a backplate and wing that carries no pockets of its own. A large protective overlap covers the opening and holds the contents in. A stainless steel bolt snap on top clips to a waist harness D-ring and an adjustable strap on the back takes the pocket around the thigh, which puts the load below the centre of the body and steadies trim instead of pulling the shoulders forward. Inside, a bungee loop retains items so nothing floats out with the flap open. It is sized for dive lights, marker buoys, a spare mask or a compact camera, though the soft shell suits soft items better than a housing with sharp corners. It suits a technical diver needing storage on a bare harness.
