FASTENING STRAP

The Aqua Lung fastening strap is a short webbing loop with a heavy-duty snap clip, made to mount a retractor or an accessory to a buoyancy compensator without unthreading the harness. It is the part that makes a Gear Keeper retractor fit a rig it was not designed around.

The strap closes with a hook-and-loop male and female loop, so it wraps around a shoulder strap, a D-ring bar, a cylinder band or a hose and cinches down on itself. Nothing has to be disassembled and nothing is permanent, so the mounting point can be moved between dives once it is clear where the item should sit. The snap clip is the heavy-duty type rather than a light bolt snap, which is what the load on a retractor line demands.

The result is an attachment point exactly where one is needed, on a harness that was built without one.

Supplied in black, sold singly. Rated for accessory loads rather than for anything a diver would rely on for buoyancy or ascent. Check the wrap is tight before a dive, because webbing that has been rinsed and dried can loosen slightly. It pairs with the Aqua Lung retractors, which is the use it was designed around.
