Description

At the distances a TG macro mode works in, the camera itself is close enough to shade the subject, and a direct flash lights one side and leaves the other black. That is the worst case for a built-in flash, and it is precisely what these cameras get bought for. This channels that flash into a ring around the lens instead, so a small subject is lit evenly. Working range is 2 to 30 centimetres, matching the macro modes, and a lever switches output between high and low, a difference of 1.4 stops, so a pale subject at 2 cm and a darker one at 30 cm can both be exposed without touching the camera settings. It fits the TG-7, TG-6, TG-5 and TG-4, the TG-4 needing firmware 2.0 or later. It is waterproof and works for unhoused macro within the camera's own depth rating, but not with the PT-059 housing. It suits a photographer shooting macro close up.
