Description

A narrow beam concentrates everything it has into a tight cone, which is precisely what makes it so effective at emptying a ledge of anything living when the light is white. Red changes that. Most marine animals respond poorly to it, so a subject that would bolt under a white spot will often tolerate a red one long enough to be watched or photographed, and the tight beam then works in the diver's favour by lighting the subject and almost nothing else. The same filter preserves dark adaptation for a diver reading a gauge or a slate at night. This is the version cut for the narrow beam bodies rather than the wide, and it comes off in seconds. It suits a diver using a narrow beam torch on shy animals or at night.
