Big Blue Fluorodiving Filter for the 15000 Series

Description

Fluorescence needs blue light to start it, and a white video light produces almost none of the narrow band that does the work. This filter converts one into an excitation source: it goes over the front of the head, blocks everything except the blue that makes corals and anemones re-emit visible colour, and turns a general purpose video light into fluorodiving equipment for a fraction of what a dedicated one costs. It is only half the system, since a barrier filter on the mask or the camera port is what removes the reflected blue and lets the fluorescence be seen at all. The advantage of the filter route over a light with a built-in blue LED is that the same head still does its ordinary job on every other dive. That answers a fluorescence night dive, a coral survey and marine biology work. It suits a videographer converting a large light for fluorodiving.
