FINGER REEL
The H2O Finger Reel is a compact spool-style reel operated with a finger through the centre rather than with a handle. It is the tool for deploying a delayed SMB and for short line runs, and it is small enough to live in a BCD pocket permanently.
A finger reel has no ratchet and no moving parts beyond the spool itself, which is why technical divers carry them: there is nothing to jam at the moment the line is running out. Line tension is controlled by the finger against the spool.
