FISCHER SOCKET CAP

Description

An open Fischer socket on a rebreather monitor is a salt water path straight into the connector, and corrosion in those pins is expensive to put right. This cap, Fischer part 103.2273, closes the socket whenever the cable is not plugged in. On a dive where the monitor is run without its cell cable the cap keeps the socket dry from the moment the diver enters the water. On the drive home it stops a wet cylinder bag doing damage that will not show until the connection goes intermittent. On a service the cap goes on before the unit is rinsed. It fits the Fischer 103 sockets used on the NERD 2 Fischer and Petrel 3 Fischer. It suits any diver running a Fischer equipped monitor, and a spare is worth keeping because they are easy to lose.
