Description

Every electrical bulkhead is a hole in a housing, and that hole is the most likely flooding point on an underwater camera setup. Firing a strobe optically removes it. This cable carries the camera's own flash to the strobe as light down a fibre, so there is no electrical path between the two, which also means a flooded strobe cannot take the camera with it. It is 41 cm, coiled and flexible, in a casing built to resist kinking, and that casing is doing real work: a kink in a fibre optic channel is a misfire, not a cosmetic fault. It suits SeaLife flashes and strobes and any other optically synced unit, since an optical trigger reads light rather than a proprietary signal. Coil it loosely for storage rather than folding it, and check both ends for cloudiness before a trip, because a fibre gone milky at the tip loses enough light to misfire. It suits a photographer firing a strobe without a bulkhead.
