Flex-Connect Flex Arm

Description

Particles in the water reflect light straight back into the lens when the light sits beside the camera. Moving it out and forward puts that reflection outside the frame, and this is the arm that does it: 7 inches of extra length bending through 100 degrees, so the light is aimed rather than only repositioned. Up to two arms run per side. On close-up and macro work it brings light in from the side rather than flattening the subject from the front, which is the difference between a record shot and a photograph. Construction is fibre-reinforced polycarbonate with stainless steel hardware, the flexible section wrapped in protective rubber where it takes the handling. Arms click into a Flex-Connect tray, grip, cold shoe adapter or the top of another arm, and release on a button press. Divers who want a light locked in one position under current are better served by the 20 cm rigid ball arm. It suits a photographer fighting backscatter.
