Flex Weights

Description

Put a square weight into a pocket cut for a longer one and it either stands proud at the top or bunches at one end, and both wear the pocket from the inside. Cutting the weight long and narrow instead means it lies along the pocket and takes its shape, so the pocket lasts as well as the weight. The seams are quad-stitched, which is the other failure worth engineering out: a soft weight that splits at a seam sheds lead shot into a BCD and is worse than carrying no weight at all. Four sizes run 500 grams, 1 kg, 2 kg and 3 kg. Being flexible they also sit more comfortably against the hip than a block on a long dive. They suit integrated BCD pockets and trim pockets more than a plain belt. The Combi Pack soft weights are the wider version, and the 500 gram slugs are the coated hard weight for a belt. Rinse and dry before storage. It suits a diver loading narrow BCD weight pockets.
