Big Blue Fluorodive Kit FDK38 for 1200 Series

Description

This is the 38 millimetre kit, sized for the older 1200 series heads: the CF450, CF1200P, AL1200WP, AL1200XWP and the AL1200WP Tail. Fluorescence diving works by pairing two filters that are useless apart. A blue excitation filter over the light supplies the wavelength that makes coral fluoresce, and an amber barrier filter over the eyes blocks the blue bouncing back off everything else, leaving only the glow the coral itself emits. Fit is not a detail here: the filter must match the light head diameter exactly, because any white light escaping round the edge washes the effect out completely. That is why Big Blue build a separate kit for each head size rather than one adjustable one. It suits an owner of a 1200 series light trying fluorescence diving.
