Description

Coral fluoresces under blue light, but only if the blue reflecting back off everything else is blocked before it reaches the eye. That is why a fluorescence kit is two filters rather than one: a blue excitation filter over the light, and an amber barrier over the eyes. This kit is sized for the 35 millimetre heads, fitting the CF450M, CF1300P, AL1300WP, AL1300XWP and the AL1300WP Tail. It turns a reef that looks ordinary by torchlight into something that glows green and orange, which is a genuinely different dive rather than a variation on a night dive. The filter has to match the light head diameter exactly, because white light leaking round the edge washes out the effect entirely, so the kit is chosen by light rather than by preference. It suits an owner of a 1300 series light trying fluorescence diving.
