Description

A sheathed knife on a BCD is one more thing to snag, and on a streamlined rig it is often the only thing left protruding. A folding knife removes the sheath entirely: it closes into itself and lives in a pocket, which is why so many technical divers carry one alongside shears rather than a fixed blade on the leg. This one has a 9 cm blunt blade, 20.8 cm overall when open, 3 mm thick and 145 g. The blunt tip means it can be worked close to a drysuit, a buoyancy cell or a buddy without the risk a point carries, which is the whole reason blunt blades dominate recreational diving. Three millimetres of blade thickness is what allows it to be used for prising without folding.
