Free Divers Crayfish Measure

Description

Measuring a crayfish before it goes in the bag is a legal requirement, and doing it underwater is far easier with a gauge on a lanyard. The Free Divers crayfish measure is a plastic gauge with a cord lanyard, so it stays attached while the diver works. Working a reef for crays, each one can be checked on the spot and undersized animals returned at once. On a shore dive, it lives on the cray bag so it is never left in the car. Measuring at the spot also means fewer animals are handled twice. Free Divers do not publish the length the gauge measures, so it should be checked against the current permit conditions before use. Recreational crayfish collection in South Africa requires a permit and is subject to size, season and bag limits. It suits a recreational diver collecting crayfish who wants a simple gauge on hand.
