Description
Crimped loops are how most spearfishing lines are finished, from shooting lines to stringers and float rigs, and a crimp that slips lets go at the worst moment. Free Divers sell 2.5mm crimps individually, so a rig can be built or repaired with exactly the number needed. Making up a new shooting line is the main use, with a crimp at each loop. Divers who make their own stringers use them to close the cable loop. Others keep a few in the repair kit for a quick fix on the boat. Crimps need a proper crimping tool to close correctly, and every crimped loop should be pull-tested before it goes in the water. It suits a spearfisher who rigs and repairs their own lines.
