Description
Keeping the catch off the body and away from the hunting zone is the job of a stringer, and a good one is quick to thread and hard to lose a fish from. The Free Divers stringer pairs a 2mm stainless steel cable with an 8mm stainless steel spike that passes through the gills. The plastic coated version has the cable sheathed in plastic, while the stainless version leaves the cable bare. Clipped to the float rather than the diver, it keeps the catch at a distance, which is standard practice where sharks are about. On a short shore dive, it can be clipped to the belt for a fish or two. Rinsing it after each dive keeps the cable and spike clean. It suits a spearfisher who wants a simple, durable way to carry the catch.
