Freediving Lanyard 2.0

Description

A freediver who loses the line in poor visibility has no reference to the surface, which is why a lanyard is not an accessory in this discipline but a requirement, and why freediving classes insist on one being worn. This is Cressi's Safety Lanyard, used as a guide while line diving. The carabiner is stainless steel and the D-ring is durable steel, which is the part that carries the load. The cable itself is flexible and strong, surrounded by a transparent spine that protects it from abrasion where it runs against the line, since a frayed cable is the failure mode that matters. The neoprene strap can be worn on the wrist or the ankle depending on preference and discipline, and the cuff includes a quick release tab so it can be shed deliberately if it snags. It is 105 cm, in black and yellow. It suits a freediver training or competing on a line.
