Description

Phone signal tends to stop at the harbour wall, and the Fenix 8 Pro keeps a line out after it does. With an inReach subscription it sends and receives messages over satellite or LTE, shares location and triggers an interactive SOS, where coverage allows. Underneath sits the same dive mode as the rest of the Fenix 8 range: single-gas scuba on air or nitrox up to 40% oxygen and apnea, both to 40 m, with Bühlmann ZHL-16c and gradient factors. A skipper running divers to an offshore pinnacle can message the shore from the boat. A shore diver working a remote stretch of coast has an SOS on the wrist between dives. Ashore, the AMOLED touchscreen behind sapphire, the LED torch and preloaded maps handle the drive home. Dive alerts are vibration only, and messaging and SOS stop working without an active plan. It suits a diver or boat crew member who spends time beyond mobile signal.
