With an inReach subscription it sends satellite text messages, pulls satellite weather, makes LTE calls where a network reaches and triggers an interactive SOS, all from a titanium case under sapphire crystal. The dive mode handles single-gas scuba on air or nitrox up to 40% oxygen and apnea, both to 40 m, with Bühlmann ZHL-16c and gradient factors. A skipper waiting on divers can check a weather update by satellite. A spearfisher heading out alone has an SOS on the wrist once back at the surface. A group at a remote coastal camp sends location check-ins home. Messaging, SOS and LTE need an active plan and coverage, and dive alerts are vibration only. It suits a diver who regularly dives or travels beyond phone signal.
