GUIDE REEL 120M
The Apeks Lifeline Guide Reel carries roughly 120 metres of braided polyester line on an impact-resistant Delrin 100P acetal body and spool. It is built as a primary guideline reel for overhead environments, where the line is the way out rather than a convenience.
A guide reel is not an ascent reel with more line on it. It is laid, tied off and followed, and the diver running it needs to have been taught how to tie off so the line stays where it was put, how to manage slack, and what to do when the line is lost. Overhead diving is a trained discipline and the reel does not substitute for the training.
Available in orange and grey. Delrin was chosen for the body because it survives being dropped on a boat deck, which is where most reels break.
