H2O Hanger for BCD

Description

A household hanger concentrates a wet BCD's weight on two points of the harness, and over a season that leaves a permanent set in the shoulder padding. Width is the whole design here: a broad shoulder spreads the load across the same area the harness spreads it on a diver, and it carries a soaked jacket without bending out of shape the way a wire hanger does. Hanging also lets the bladder drain and dry from the inside, which folding a wet BCD into a bag prevents, and that matters because mildew inside a bladder is a smell that never comes out and creases in a bladder are where the material fails first. Rinse the BCD inside and out, drain the bladder and hang it somewhere shaded rather than in direct sun, since ultraviolet does more damage to the fabric than salt does.
