HARNESS SIMPLE BACKPACK WITH STRAPS
The SCUBAPRO Simple Backpack with Straps is a bare cylinder backpack: a plate, a tank band and a shoulder harness, with no bladder and no buoyancy. It is what a diver carries a cylinder on when buoyancy is not needed or is provided some other way.
The usual applications are surface-supplied and confined-water work, training exercises and hookah setups, and it is also used as a spare pack in a school where a BCD backplate has broken. It is not a BCD and offers no buoyancy control, so it should not be substituted for one on an open water dive.
