The Aqua Lung Hawkeye is a twin-lens snorkelling mask with tempered glass rather than plastic lenses. That is the specification worth checking on any mask at this price, because tempered glass does not scratch the way an acrylic lens does and it does not haze after a season of sand and sunscreen.

The skirt is hypoallergenic silicone, which seals against the face without the reaction that cheaper rubber compounds can cause on a long day in the water. The buckles adjust in three directions, so the strap angle can be set to the shape of the head instead of forcing the mask to sit where the strap wants it. A twin-lens layout keeps the lenses close to the eyes, which keeps the internal volume down and makes the mask straightforward to clear. The frame is a rigid moulding with the skirt bonded into it, so the lenses can be replaced with prescription glass by a dive shop if a snorkeller needs correction in the water.
