Description

Running on three AAA alkaline cells is what separates this head light from the rechargeable models, and on a remote trip it is the deciding feature: a replacement is available anywhere, where a proprietary charger is not. It gives a 120 degree extra-wide white beam at 450 lumens for 2 hours, 225 for 4, 113 for 8 and 45 for 20, plus 100 lumens of red for approaching animals that white light would scatter, from two Cree LEDs and two XPE red LEDs at 6500K. It weighs 189 grams with cells fitted and sits 58 grams negative, on a polycarbonate body with an aluminium alloy light head, tested to 100 metres. A head strap ships in the box. That answers a night dive, a travel trip and a macro approach. It suits a diver who wants hands-free light on shop-bought batteries.
