Helix Compact

Description

A second stage too big for the face it is strapped to pulls at the mouth for the whole dive, and that is felt most by smaller divers, by juniors moving onto their own kit, and by anyone with a narrow jaw. The Helix Compact uses a physically smaller second stage for exactly that reason, on the same 475 g DIN first stage as the standard Helix. Work of breathing is 1.25 joules per litre, a recreational figure rather than a technical one, and worth stating plainly: this is a regulator for reef and training depths rather than for deep air. The ComfoBite mouthpiece and its palate bridge reduce jaw fatigue further. Two high pressure and four medium pressure ports sit in a T for clean routing. That answers a lighter diver, a warm-water holiday set, and a club spare. It suits a diver who finds a full-size second stage too much hardware.
