Description

Compact second stages and cold water protection do not usually arrive together, because the sealing hardware is what makes a regulator bulky in the first place. The Helix Compact Pro puts both in one package: the smaller second stage of the Helix Compact with the environmental chamber, heat exchanger, lip shield and Auto Closure Device of the Pro models. The first stage weighs 525 g in DIN and work of breathing is 1.35 joules per litre, which places it as a recreational regulator that can be taken somewhere cold rather than as a deep air unit. Two high pressure and four medium pressure ports in a T layout keep hoses flat against the body. That answers a smaller diver in a drysuit, a winter shore dive, and a travel set that has to work in more than one climate. It suits a smaller diver who also dives cold water.
