Description

Compact second stages are normally a warm-water proposition, because the hardware that seals a regulator against cold and silt is what makes it bulky in the first place. The Helix Compact Pro puts both together: the smaller second stage body with an environmental chamber sealing the first stage mechanism, a heat exchanger against ice at the valve inlet, a lip shield and an Auto Closure Device. This set supplies it as a pack with a matching octopus, adds a two-gauge console, and pairs it with the Pro HD men's jacket BCD, carrying ditchable weight on the patented SureLock II release with fixed tank band pockets for trim. Work of breathing is 1.35 joules per litre, which places it as a recreational regulator that can be taken somewhere cold. It suits a diver with a narrow jaw who also dives quarries and winter shore dives.
