Description

Silt and cold are what actually finish first stages, and the Helix Pro answers both by sealing the mechanism away from the water it dives in. An environmental chamber keeps grit and salt out of the moving parts, a heat exchanger resists ice forming at the second stage valve inlet, and an Auto Closure Device shuts the inlet the moment the regulator leaves the cylinder, so nothing gets in between dives either. It weighs 525 g in DIN, which keeps it inside travel weight while adding the protection the plain Helix leaves out, and work of breathing is 0.95 joules per litre. Two high pressure and four medium pressure ports in a T layout keep hoses flat. That answers a quarry dive in poor visibility, a cold winter shore dive, and a boat where kit is rinsed in a shared tub. It suits a diver adding cold water and silt protection without much extra weight.
