Aqualung Hose Holder

Description

An unsecured octopus dragging through sand is the commonest way a second stage gets ruined, and a hose that flaps free is the commonest way a diver gets caught on a wreck. A hose holder deals with both by fixing the hose to the rig at a chosen point, so the alternate air source sits where a buddy can find it and stays out of the silt. Fixing the hose also settles the routing permanently: once a diver has worked out where a console or an octopus should sit, a holder keeps it there dive after dive instead of the arrangement drifting. It is a small part with a disproportionate effect on how tidy a rig is, which is why technical divers fit several. That answers an octopus that keeps escaping, a console that swings, and a rig being streamlined before a wreck or cave course. It suits a diver tidying hose routing on a BCD.
