Hose Protector

Description

Every regulator hose fails in the same place, where it meets the fitting, because that is where it flexes and where the inner braid carries the strain. A protector is a sleeve stiff enough to stop the hose bending past its limit at that point. Internal ribs are what separate it from a plain length of rubber tube. They hold the sleeve off the metal coupling so water drains away rather than sitting against it, which is how a badly made protector corrodes the very fitting it was meant to look after. The material resists cracking with age instead of perishing after one summer on a boat deck. Four colours are stocked and the choice is worth making deliberately, since yellow on the alternate and a fixed colour on the gauge means a hose is identified by sight rather than traced by hand. It suits any standard regulator hose.
