Description

Wrist heart rate is convenient and it is also the first reading to fail during hard intervals, when the sensor loses contact and the numbers drift. A chest strap reads the electrical signal directly, and the HRM 600 does that while adding Garmin running dynamics such as ground contact time, vertical oscillation and stride length. On-strap memory records sessions when the watch is left behind, so a gym circuit or a pool session still lands in the training log. Rated to 5 ATM, it is built for pool and surface swimming, and it is worth stating plainly that this is not a dive accessory and is not rated for diving depths. Battery life runs to around two months at an hour of use a day, and it comes in XS to S and M to XL strap sizes. It suits a diver who trains seriously on land between trips and wants accurate heart rate for that training.
