IST Black Mini BC Knife

Description

Small enough to forget until it is needed, the IST Black Mini BC Knife packs a 7.2 cm blade into a knife only 13.8 cm long. The blade is 440C stainless steel, a hard grade that holds an edge well, finished in black so it does not flash in the water or look out of place on black kit. The handle is G10, a laminate of fibreglass bonded under high pressure with epoxy, which stays rigid and grippy in salt water. Kept on the harness or in a BC pocket, it is ready for cutting monofilament off a reef or freeing a reel line snagged on a wreck. Technical divers who carry two or three cutting tools often choose a short knife like this as the one that lives on the harness. The maker's photos show it with a black nylon sheath. It suits divers who want a tough, compact back-up blade that disappears into the kit.
