IST Diver Down Flag 50 x 60 cm

Description

Boat traffic only steers clear of divers it knows are there, and the IST Diver Down Flag puts the familiar red field with a white diagonal stripe above the water to say so. It measures 50 x 60 cm and is made from nylon, with metal grommets at the corners for tying to a boat rail, a mast or a float. A 304 stainless steel stiffener runs across the flag to hold it spread out, so it stays readable on a calm day when an unsupported flag would hang limp against the pole. Shore divers fly it from a float towed above the group, while boat skippers raise it from the moment the first diver rolls in until the last is back aboard. Spearfishers and snorkellers working a reef close to a channel use it the same way. Local rules on which dive flag to fly vary, so many skippers carry this flag alongside the Alpha flag.
