IST Hunter Mask

Description

Every breath spent clearing a mask is a breath not spent on the dive, so the IST Hunter keeps its internal volume extremely low. For breath-hold divers and spearfishers that means less air to equalise on the way down and a closer field of view along the barrel of a gun. The skirt is high grade silicone with a non-polished finish, which stops sunlight glinting off the mask and spooking fish in shallow water. Photographers get the same close view, with the lenses near the eyes for framing through a viewfinder. On scuba dives it folds flat into a BCD pocket as a back-up mask. Both twin lenses are tempered glass, and the swivel buckles adjust quickly with cold hands. The anti-fog version has a film on the inside of the lenses; its matte protective layer comes off before first use, and the film needs a rinse before each dive and fresh water only for cleaning. It suits breath-hold divers, spearfishers and photographers who want a low-volume mask, and scuba divers who carry a spare.
