Leg Strap

Description

A backplate rig that rides up the back pulls the cylinder out of trim, and the IST Leg Strap anchors the harness so the whole rig stays where it was set. It is made from soft 5 cm wide nylon webbing, 1.2 mm thick, which is comfortable against a wetsuit or drysuit and supple enough to thread through a plate. Two flat 6 mm D-rings in 304 stainless steel come with it, giving solid attachment points for a scooter leash, a reel or other kit. A pre-fixed webbing keeper tidies the loose end once the length is set, and the strap adjusts for a custom fit. Clipping long items low on the leg strap keeps them out of the way of the chest and the inflator. Replacing a frayed leg strap is also a cheap way to refresh an older harness. It suits backplate and harness divers who want a stable rig with extra attachment points.
