IST Sonic Mask

Description

Low volume and comfort often pull in opposite directions, and the IST Sonic answers with a frameless twin-lens mask that keeps volume extremely low while leaving a deep nose pocket. That pocket gives room to pinch and equalise, which counts on a freediving descent when each equalisation has to be quick. On scuba dives the same low profile means less air to clear after a flood, and the mask sits close enough to the face to stay put in a current. The whole mask is moulded from hypoallergenic liquid silicone, and the buckles are attached to the skirt, so there are no rigid parts to snap when it is squashed into a bag. Engraved lines across the top give fingers a grip when lifting or adjusting the mask with wet or gloved hands. The white version brightens the view in shallow water, while black reduces stray light for photography and spearfishing. It suits freediving, scuba and snorkelling divers who want one low-volume mask for all three.
