Description

Dry valves fail in one of two ways: they let water past, or they stick shut and refuse to open when the snorkel surfaces. The Itaca uses an internationally patented dry guard with a mechanical device built on three movement joints and a counterweight, and it is the counterweight that matters, because it ensures the upper valve opens immediately whether the diver is descending or surfacing rather than relying on buoyancy alone. The lower section carries a smooth flexible corrugated part on the inner side, which lets the snorkel hang away from the mouth while a regulator is in use rather than pressing against the jaw. The mouthpiece is soft silicone set at a studied angle. Seven colourways are offered. It suits a snorkeller or scuba diver who wants a dry top that opens reliably as well as sealing.
