Description

A wetsuit made for diving is the wrong tool for a long surface swim: too thick, too stiff through the shoulder, and dark enough to disappear against the water. The Karua is a thin hybrid built the other way round. Fluorescent sleeves, upper back panel and ankles give visibility in open water where it matters, on a suit inspired by the Karua caldera in the Vanuatu archipelago, its sleeve graphics recalling the lava of the eruption. It is 3 mm ultrastretch neoprene with a smooth nylon covering inside and out, which gives flexibility for a repeated stroke, UV protection for hours in the sun and protection against scratches. The design was modelled entirely in 3D on virtual mannequins, letting Cressi study fit and sizing without producing sample collections. Six sizes from XS to 2XL. That answers swimming, snorkelling, surfing, paddling and canyoning. It suits a man wanting one thin suit for surface water sports.
