Description

Wide-angle scenes and big subjects need more light than a small strobe can throw, and a strobe that also works as a video light saves carrying two heads on the arms. The KR-S80 does both. It gives 80 watt-seconds of manual power in six steps through a round flash tube for even, soft-edged coverage, recycles to full power in about one second and fires roughly 800 times on its two USB-C rechargeable 21700 batteries. A 3000 lumen, 100-degree LED on the front runs as a video or modelling light for about 50 minutes at full power. It triggers optically in S1, S2 or Multi slave mode through a fibre optic port, with no TTL. It suits close-focus wide-angle on a reef, a wreck interior that swallows light, and a shoot that mixes stills and clips on the same dive. At 375 g in water it balances well on standard arms.
