Lantern Handle

Description

Most dive light handles assume the light points forward from the hand. A lantern handle assumes the opposite: the light hangs below it and the beam goes down and out, the way a lantern is carried rather than the way a torch is pointed. That is the right arrangement for lighting a working area rather than a target, for a diver moving along a line with the light illuminating the bottom underneath, and for anyone who wants a light to carry rather than to aim. It also changes how the mass sits, hanging from the grip instead of levering against the wrist, which is easier over a long dive than it sounds. Goodman and pistol grip handles cover the aimed alternatives. That answers a working dive, a bottom search and a light carried for hours. It suits a diver who wants to carry a light rather than aim it.
