Description

Worth being plain about the limits first: OM System do not recommend this underwater, and results there are generally poor. It is a topside macro accessory, and on land it does a real job. The camera's built-in LED sits off to one side of a subject that, at macro working distances, is close enough for that to leave half of it dark. This fits over the front of the camera and redirects the same LED around the lens, spreading the light along the lens axis so insects, flowers, textures and small objects come back showing detail rather than contrast. It adds almost nothing to the size of the camera and fits the TG-7 back to the TG-1. Divers wanting macro light underwater should be looking at a video light or a strobe, and the FD-1 flash diffuser is the waterproof alternative for close work. It suits a photographer shooting close-up subjects on land.
