Mares Atlas 62X + Magellan HD Set

Description

Cold water tends to find the weak point in a rig, usually the regulator, so this set puts the all-metal Mares Atlas 62X on the Mares Magellan HD. Mares recommends its all-metal second stage for extremely cold water, and the large pivoting purge button can be pressed through thick gloves. The 62X first stage adds a DFC port for high airflow at any depth, pre-oriented ports and Auto Sealing Technology to keep it dry. The Magellan HD keeps its 180 N of lift behind the diver, splits lead between removable Standard System weight pockets and trim pockets, and comes in black or blue. No octopus is included, so an alternate air source has to be added before the rig is dived. That covers a photographer carrying a housing, a diver packing for reef trips, and cooler dives at home. It suits a diver who wants back-inflation trim with a step-up regulator.
