Mares Atlas 62X + XR Rec Trim Set

Description

Cold water tends to find the weak point in a rig, usually the regulator, so this set puts the all-metal Mares Atlas 62X on the Mares XR-Rec Trim single backmount set. Mares recommends its all-metal second stage for extremely cold water, and the large pivoting purge button can be pressed through thick gloves. The 62X first stage adds a DFC port for high airflow at any depth, pre-oriented ports and Auto Sealing Technology to keep it dry. The XR-Rec Trim brings a 17 litre, 160 N bladder that runs longer at the lower back, independent shoulder and waist straps and a skeleton aluminium backplate, all at 2.8 kg. No octopus is included, so an alternate air source has to be added before the rig is dived. That covers a recreational diver starting technical courses, a traveller who wants a light backmount rig, and cooler water at home. It suits a diver setting up a trim-focused single-cylinder rig.
